RUI FIT Coach

The RUI FIT Coach designs and executes individualized fitness and health plans for residents and staff. Reports to and is supervised by the Executive Director with support from the Regional Director of RUI FIT. Position is full-time/part-time, depending on the needs of the community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES:

 

· Conducts individualized assessments and creates individualized programs for residents and staff to include fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle choices and provides assistance with workouts as needed.

· Helps residents and staff develop short- and long-term health and fitness goals.

· Educates residents, staff, and families about available personal training packages.

· Conducts monthly Health Talks for residents.

· Provides education and guidance on nutrition, health, and lifestyle choices.

· Troubleshoots when residents or staff are struggling with health and fitness goals.

· Attends weekly QA meeting with therapy and nursing for resident updates and personal training referrals.

· Collaborates with sales team to incorporate RUI FIT into marketing initiatives for census development.

· Teaches group exercise classes appropriate for the residents in the community for all service areas i.e. memory care, assisted living and independent living, where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ISSA, NASM, ACE, ACSM, NCSF or other National Personal Training certification required upon hire or required within 60 days (about 2 months) of hire

  • Must maintain all necessary certifications, Chair One, Personal Training, CPR, AED, and First Aid. Lifeguard certification must also be maintained where applicable

  • Experience training seniors preferred

  • Senior Fitness Certification preferred

  • CPR and First Aid certified

  • High School Diploma or GED 

  • Compassionate, patient and good communication skills

  • Be vaccinated for the flu (during flu season)

  • Must be able to exert up to 50lbs of force regularly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects including the human body

  • Must be able to exert up to 100lbs of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body
